چکیده

Background Late gadolinium enhanced magnetic resonance (LGE MR) imaging is the current standard modality for evaluating the extent of myocardial damage in the presence of ischemic cardiomyopathies (ICM). However it is difficult to differentiate acute from chronic myocardial infarctions (MI) by standard signal intensity thresholding methods. We hypothesize that textural analysis of myocardial infarct regions has the potential to discriminate acute from chronic MI in high resolution LGE CMR images.

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

Myocardial fibrosis delineation in late gadolinium enhancement images of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy patients using deep learning methods

Introduction: Accurate delineation of myocardial fibrosis in Late Gadolinium Enhancement on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (LGE-CMR) has a crucial role in the assessment and risk stratification of HCM patients. As this is time-consuming and requires expertise, automation can be essential in accelerating this process. This study aims to use Unet-based deep learning methods to automate the mentioned ...

Mechanism of late gadolinium enhancement in patients with acute myocardial infarction.

PURPOSE To investigate the mechanism of late gadolinium enhancement in irreversibly damaged myocardium in patients with acute myocardial infarct by determining kinetics of Gd-DTPA over time. METHODS Twenty-nine patients (24 men; 64 +/- 9 years) with acute myocardial infarction were imaged with functional and gadolinium enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) 18 minutes post 0.2 mmol/...

Fuzzy-logic, manual and semi-automated 2SD-based approaches for quantification of myocardial necrosis from late contrast enhancement magnetic resonance images: comparison with biochemical assessment of infarct size and left ventricular volumes and function early after myocardial infarction

Purpose Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR) provides reliable estimation of the extent of necrosis after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Nevertheless usual quantification methods are time consuming and subjective. We sought to assess necrosis extent with a new method (fuzzy c-means clustering), compared to usual methods, applied on Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) sequences. Results we...

Prevalence and signal characteristics of late gadolinium enhancement on contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in patients with takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND To determine the prevalence and signal intensity (SI) characteristics of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC). METHODS AND RESULTS Cine, black-blood T2-weighted and LGE MR images were acquired in 23 patients with TC within 72 h of onset. Wall motion abnormality (WMA), edema and LGE were evaluated with a 16-segment mo...
